Acting DG of NABDA arrested over alleged N400m fraud


According to the reports, The acting Director General of the National Biotechnology Development Agency (NABDA) Alex Akpa has been arrested by the ICPC for Defrauding the Federal Goverment of N400 million. 


Alex Akpa is known to be the professor of Micro biology, as he was arrested by the Operatives of the Commission to answer the questions on how the huge amount of money was embezzled. 

It was known that the Acting DG of NABDA claimed the money he diverted was an intervention fund for the biotechnology agency and he allegedly shared the money with top management staff of the agency.

The commission said the offence committed by Akpan whose appointment came in June, is contrary to and punishable under sections 19 and 26 of the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000.
