FC Lorient groundsman dies after a floodlight bar falls on him on the at the Stadium

According to the sport reports, It was reported that a man who is working as a groundsman for the French club FC Lorient is dead after a floodlight bar fell on him at the Stadium.

The freak Incident happened at 7.00pm local time shortly after Lorient's 3-0 defeat against Rennes on Sunday evening, December 20.

Two other groundsworkers were also taken to hospital but did not suffer any physical injuries.

According to the Local news Sources, It was stated that the Groundsman who is a father of three was working for the French club as a Volunteer.


The Mayor of Lorient, Fabrice Loher, was at the stadium at the time of the accident and said: 'It's a terrible accident. The police from the Lorient police station have marked up the scene and an investigation is underway to understand the circumstances of the accident.'
